This page provides tools you can use to view the rich collection of observations recorded by the New York Mycological Society on our walks and forays since 2009. Our database has tables of data for the walks, parks, species, broad groups and individual observations that make up our records and these can all be explored using the controls provided here.
If you'd like to examine the distribution of a particular species within our various parks and walk sites, to look at seasonal fluctuations in species from a particular broad group or to see trends in observation data over periods of time, you can use this page to query the database and organize the presentation of the results.
The "table / perspective" controls on the top left of the page can be used to load specific sets of data stored in the database tables. These can be viewed in overview, time series and seasonal perspectives (depending on the data being viewed). The data sets are paginated and have embedded links in various places to navigate to more detailed views.
Filter and settings controls for data views are shown in the left sidebar. These can be used to refine data sets and to control how they're displayed. Filters can be reset individually or altogether using the "clear filters" button. Data can be sorted by clicking the column headers on the various data set views.
