Gilled mycorrhizal mushrooms like Cortinarius spp. and Hebeloma crustuliniforme were out in the park, some of them frozen. Saprobes like Gymnopus and Hypholoma were out as well. But for me, the tiny but remarkable prizes of the day were Trichopeziza subsulpherea (such a beautiful hairy cup); Byssocorticeum efibulatum, a vivid blue crust that, surprisingly, is mycorrhizal; Resupinatus urceoloides which was found by Adrienne and is a cyphelloid mushroom closely related to its gilled cousins. Adrienne also found Anthina flammea, a flashy but small asexual fungus that grows on oaks leaves and is orange and wispy. ~12 people on a ~3.5 hour walk.
