This walk was also a workshop in first aid and herbal safety skills led by Journei Bimwala. We learned some of the uses of plants in our woods for poison ivy relief, simple wound treatment etc. We also learned how to care for injuries both minor and major with bandages, tourniquets and slings. And there were also mushrooms in the woods, including two different species of Agaricus, several boletes, and host of myxomycetes. A group of us went for a brief walk around Woodlawn cemetery as well.
