A walk along the Old Croton Aqueduct trail during a very warm spring day and a pullulation of Prenolepis imparis, American winter ant, ID’d by Wilton Rao. A pullulation means a teeming or swarming, as in the teeming or swarming of the thousands of mating flying ants. It was somewhat distracting. Temperatures eventually getting to 80F. ~22 people for a 2.5hr. walk.
