We had a nice spring walk in Inwood Hill Park yesterday. Thanks to Maren Fossi for leading. The spring Pezizaceae came out (most of the collections are still immature and need a few days to a week in a moist chamber). There were some other highly-sought-after ascomycetes. Andrew Cannon found an impressive number of rusts, plus the usual smut—Vankya heufleri on trout lily. You know it when you see it.
