It was quite dry, so we were not surprised that there were few mushrooms to be found. The area where we walked burned last year during the late summer/fall drought. Some of the ground cover that would hold moisture had burned away as well as some dead and vulnerable trees that made up the overstory. No sign of pyrophilic mushrooms either.
